Research Interest
Modelling of shallow compaction of fine-grained sediments in the deep-water basins. Flow modelling and upscaling in presence of multi-scale heterogeneous sedimentary structures and mechanic deformational features (e.g. faults, fractures, sand injection) for reservoirs and seal characterisation. Developing numerical methods for better simulation of coupled behaviours of fluid flow and mechanical deformation of geo-materials, for applications of well stimulation shale gas. Multi-scale pore-space characterisation of porous materials. Pore-scale lattice Boltzmann and pore network modelling of liquid and gas fluid flow in micro to nano pores for hydrocarbon recovery, including heavy oil and shale gas. Applications of computational intelligence in geosciences, e.g. machine learning for well-log analysis.
